OpenAlex is a freely accessible, comprehensive database. It offers structured metadata on millions of publications - from specialist articles and conference papers to preprints - and links them together.
A key advantage: OpenAlex also provides detailed citation data. This allows you to understand how often and in what context a publication is cited, identify research streams and analyse the scientific influence of individual works or authors.
