About us

The University Archive is a department of the Viadrina University Library and is located on the same campus site.

Its core mission is to preserve, catalogue, and provide access to documents of enduring significance produced by the University. Where appropriate, the Archive also supports the publication of these materials. In addition, it plays an active role in researching, interpreting, and communicating the history of the University.

The Archive’s holdings include photographs, portraits, personal papers of university members, posters, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and other historical materials. It also serves as a resource and advisor to university departments, offering guidance on the proper management and long-term preservation of records.
