Open Access Journals

Publication fund for journal articles

The European University Viadrina supports its members with a publication fund for open access publishing.

Since 2023, the publication fund has enabled university members to support the financing of publication costs for journal articles (APCs = Article Processing Charges).

Publication fund for journal articles

If no or other project, material or third-party funding is available, funding is possible through an application via the central publication fund. The funding consists of the subsequent payment of open access publication fees.

Please inform yourself about the trustworthiness and reputability of the journal and the publisher before submitting your application. To ensure the quality standard, a countersignature from the dean's office or the head of the ZWE (Central Business Unit) is required.

The amount of funding in 2025 depends on the number of applications received and the amount of the publication fund. It amounts to EUR 2,000.00 per article for publications in non-DEAL journals.

The costs for publications with the publishers of the DEAL contracts will be covered in full. This regulation is expected to apply until the end of 2025 and will be evaluated once the figures have been analysed.

Information on this will then follow shortly.
