E-Books

E-Books

There are several strategies for searching for e-books:

E-books acquired by the University Library of the EUV can be found in the OPAC: both individually acquired e-books and those that we have acquired as part of a database licence (in particular wiso-net and beckonline). - To specify the search, you should click on the category "e-book" in the "Narrow down search" block under the heading "Media type".
If you already know or suspect that an e-book is available in a particular online database (e.g. OECD iLibrary, Business Source Complete or beckonline), you can access this database directly or via DBIS. - Since in these cases access to the e-book is usually linked to the subscription to this database, you will only receive the e-book if the University Library of the EUV has licensed this database.
Purchased e-books are usually campus licences (from outside the campus via VPN); e-books are usually available in PDF format. To read the e-books from DeGruyter-Verlag you must allow cookies, the e-books from "Duncker & Humblot" require cookies and Adobe Flash Player.

Please note the licence conditions of our e-books!

PL Copyright provides online access to E-Content on its website. The customer acknowledges that the E-Content provided is protected by copyright in favour of PL Copyright.
PL Copyright grants the purchaser of E-Content the non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable right to access and use the paid E-Content for the licence term and to make it available to those third parties who are entitled to do so within the scope of their own use under copyright law ("Authorised Users"). The access authorisation exists exclusively for IP addresses and user names or passwords reported to Peter Lang.

In accordance with the current publishing principle, PL Copyright grants the customer access to the content of advance issues of a journal or yearbook that predate the currently purchased issue and that were not ordered for a fee. This only applies insofar as such advance editions are available on the Platform.
PL Copyright reserves the right to withdraw individual products or parts of the E-Content at any time for important reasons, namely if PL Copyright no longer has the necessary rights.

After expiry of the deadline set, Peter Lang may block the Customer's access until the suspicion has been eliminated.
The Customer must compensate Peter Lang for all damages caused by use in breach of contract and/or improper use by the Customer, by authorised users or by third parties who access the Customer's network without authorisation.
