Viadrina Fast Track - English

The Viadrina Fast Track - English is aimed at international high-school graduates with an indirect university entrance qualification to start their studies at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) directly after graduating from high-school in their home country. The study preparatory program is open to high-school graduates and respective students from abroad who are usually not allowed to study directly after school in Germany and who have to attend a so-called "Studienkolleg" or study at least for 1 or 2 years at a university in their home country. Participants attend a 3-month study preparatory course from July to September 2024. After successfully completing the program, participants will be enrolled in the English-speaking Bachelor program International Business Administration in October 2024.

The participation in the Viadrina Fast Track - Engish and subsequent studies are free of charge.

In the first year of study, the best applicants receive a scholarship of 3.000 euros in total (subject to provision of funds)

 

After a successful application, you will attend the following courses within the foundation program Viadrina Fast Track - English from July 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024:

  • Subject-related preparatory courses in the disciplines of mathematics, economics and business administration
  • English language course at level B2 and subsequent English language exam (if required)
  • German language taster course at beginner level
  • Further subject-related, methodical and intercultural preparatory courses
  • Workshops to acquire key competencies for successful studies

Participants complete the study preparation program Viadrina Fast Track - English with the university entrance exam (so-called 'Hochschulzugangsprüfung', HZP) and, if required, an additional English exam. After passing all relevant exams, participants will be enrolled in the English-speaking Bachelor program International Business Administration at the European University Viadrina in October 2024. The standard period of study for the Bachelor program is 6 semesters.

The costs for the participation in the Viadrina Fast Track - English are covered by the European University Viadrina. This includes the following:

  • Language and subject-related courses
  • Teaching and learning materials
  • Tutorials and workshops
  • All exam fees (costs for re-exams are excluded)
  • Cultural and social program
  • Costs for supervision and support

All other costs need to be covered by yourself. This includes, in particular, costs for private health insurance during the study preparatory program (foundation program) in summer 2024, costs for accommodation and meals. These costs amount to around 650-800 euros per month.

In the first year of study, the best applicants receive a scholarship of 3.000 euros in total (subject to provision of funds).

 

The Viadrina Fast Track - English is aimed at international high-school graduates and prospective students, who fulfill the following requirements:

  • High-school diploma and university entrance qualification in the home country (Abitur)
  • Indirect university entrance qualification in Germany
  • English language skills at least on level B2 (see the overview of accepted language certificates below)
  • At least 17 years old on October 1, 2024
  • Interest in economics, mathematics, and business administration subjects

 

The following English language certificates are accepted for the application in the Viadrina Fast Track (English Track):

  • Cambridge English Advanced: level B2
  • Cambridge English First: Grade C
  • IELTS (academic): 6.5 points at minimum
  • TOEFL (iBT, not MyBestTM Score): 80 points at minimum (TOEFL ID Code: 4782)
  • TOEIC: 400 points at minimum (listening), 385 points at minimum (reading), 160 points at minimum (speaking), 150 points at minimum (writing)
  • Certificate UNIcert II

How to apply?

The application procedure for the Viadrina Fast Track - English consists of three steps. At the beginning, you submit your written application documents by January 3, 2024 (23:59 CET) the latest. Selected applicants will then be invited to take the TestAS, which will take place on February 22, 2024. If you pass this test, we will conduct a final interview with you at the beginning of April 2024 (e.g. via Zoom). Please find in the following details to each step of the application process.

 

STEP 1: The application procedure takes place via our online application portal. Please upload the following application documents by January 3, 2024 (23:59 CET) the latest:

  • Complete online application form
  • High-school diploma and university entrance qualification in the home country: original certificate + officially sworn translation either in German or English
  • English language certificate of at least level B2 (max. 6 months old)
  • Letter of motivation
  • CV
  • Passport copy (first page / front page)
  • Current passport photo

You need to first register in the online application portal. You will then receive an activation link by email. Please note that the activation link will only be valid for 24 hours. After clicking on the activation link, you can set your individual password and subsequently start your online application. Please note that the email with the activation link may arrive with a time delay. Please be patient and also check your SPAM folder.

After successfully completing the online application form, uploaded all necessary documents and submitted the application form online, you will receive a PDF file of your application. Please print out this file, sign it, scan it (with your signature) and send it by January 3, 2024 (23:59 CET) the latest in PDF file to

college@europa-uni.de.

Important: Please note that without this step, your application is not complete!

STEP 2: After pre-selection on basis of all submitted documents, you will be invited to attend the TestAS - Test for Academic Studies in your home country (costs: approx. 100 euros). You need to attend the subject module "Economics" on February 22, 2024. The language of the TestAS taken is English.

STEP 3: After successfully completing the TestAS, we will invite you to an interview. The short interview will most likely take place beginning of April 2024. The interview will take place online, e.g. via Zoom.

STEP 4: After the interview, qualified candidates will be accepted to participate in the Viadrina Fast Track - English. Afterwards you will receive further information about the study preparation at the European University Viadrina and the invitation to apply for a visa at the German Embassy. You will arrive in Frankfurt (Oder) at the beginning of July 2024.

 

Please also note the following information: When applying for a visa at the German Embassy, you need to submit a proof of finance. With this, you prove that you have sufficient funds to study in Germany for one year. Usually, the opening of a blocked account ("Sperrkonto") with an amount of 11.208 euros is required for the visa to be issued. For details, please contact the German Embassy responsible for you.

 

The European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) places importance on a very good support system. This enables the participants of the Viadrina Fast Track - English to be counselled and supported before and during their participation in the study preparation and to quickly settle in at the university and in the city of Frankfurt (Oder).

In addition to assist in finding a dormitory, participants receive support during their foundation program and the introductory phase of their studies. The Viadrina Fast Track - English also organizes extracurricular activities and social events, including excursions.
